How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. The HR Generalist will support business operations by acting as both a strategic partner and administrative resource for the HR team. This is a hands-on position that supports the manufacturing plant and managers with a focus on recruiting, employee engagement, employee relations, performance management, and continuous improvement.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR systems such as Dayforce, Success Factors, and other systems are current, compliant, and audit ready.
- Coordinate the collection of information, inputting information, and running/auditing reports.
- Own daily timesheet transactions ensuring hours and attendance records are accurate for successful bi-weekly payroll.
- Be the subject matter expert for pay and attendance inquiries and reports.
- Act as a frontline resource for associate questions and concerns; provide guidance on policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Conduct fact-finding, document incidents, and support workplace investigations in partnership with HR leadership.
- Assist with progressive discipline processes, conflict resolution, and investigation outcomes.
- Support performance management processes, including reviews, documentation, and goal tracking.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies
- Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures
- Coordinate training and development initiatives to support employee growth and organizational needs
- Support employee engagement and culture-building initiatives

Required Experience
- 1-3 years of HR experience (HR Generalist or similar role preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in manufacturing operations and recruiting.
- Experience with a temporary workforce and seasonal staffing.
- Time and Attendance Systems (Dayforce preferred)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process enhancements.
- Collaborative mindset, with proven ability to work cross functionally.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field or two years+ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- HR Certification preferred or working towards designation.
Travel & Working Environment
- Office environment with occasional work in a plant/manufacturing environment.
- Minimal travel (<10%) that includes visits to other facilities, vendors, and training.
- Manufacturing Environment require use of foot and eye protection when in production areas.
