How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Facilities Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the inbound and outbound flow of materials to support sales orders and project requirements. The position manages purchasing, production planning, work orders, and—where applicable—inventory, warehousing, and stock control activities to ensure materials are available, accurate, and delivered efficiently.
The incumbent leads and supports planning, purchasing, and logistics teams, including Buyer/Planners and warehouse or shipping/receiving personnel as applicable. This role also develops and implements processes, methods, and policies to drive efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement across material movement, storage, and delivery operations.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Material Flow, Scheduling & Delivery Execution
- Plan and manage workload schedules, ship-direct needs, and delivery timelines for sales orders, projects, and returns
- Monitor material flow, expedite shortages, and support jobsite and shop floor needs to meet project schedules
- Team Leadership, Coordination & Reporting
- Assign, supervise, and evaluate buyers/planners and, as applicable, warehouse, shipping/receiving, and support staff
- Prepare KPI reports, attend shipping meetings, and ensure accurate system maintenance and data integrity
- Issue Resolution, Project Support & Continuous Improvement
- Identify material non-compliance issues, analyze problem areas, and recommend corrective actions
- Support project estimates, supplier coordination, and customer or project manager site visits as needed
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
• 3+ years of experience in an inventory, materials, or supply chain–related role
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and ERP systems
• Solid understanding of manufacturing environments and material flow processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Basic project management skills, including coordination and task tracking
Ideal Experience & Skills
• Experience with logistics operations, including international shipments
• Purchasing experience such as quoting, expediting, or participation in online auctions
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms
• Exposure to continuous improvement or inventory optimization initiatives
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant coursework in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• APICS certification or current enrollment in APICS coursework, preferred
Travel & Working Environment
• Onsite office environment with standard business hours
• Ability to perform keyboarding/typing and read from computer screens and paper documents
• Ability to occasionally lift, bend, and stoop
• Ability to handle a high volume of work and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally
