SPX Sigma-Omega Corporation is a manufacturer of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment including Wallfin, Convectors, Force Flows, Cabinet Unit Heaters, Valance as well as Radiant Ceiling Heating and Cooling Products.
The Opportunity
SPX Sigma-Omega Corporation is seeking a person who has experience in the HVAC industry to join our commercial products team as a Brazer – HVAC Manufacturing in a fulltime position. The successful applicant should also be a responsible team-player, who is able to work individually and has strong attention to details in performing everyday tasks.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprint drawings and follow work instructions
- Cut, clean and debur pipes for brazing
- Braze A/C units from 2 – 90 tons
- Install and Braze copper pipes, brass and stainless-steel to Victaulic fittings
- Braze pipes to HVAC components; compressors, expansion valves, filter driers, etc.
- Meet quality compliance requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment with Safety First in mind
- Flexibility to work overtime on occasional evenings and weekends.
- Flexible to be re-assigned to other production lines as business needs
- Work in a non-climate-controlled environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years brazing experience
- Intermediate level braze ability working with copper, brass, and stainless-steel fittings
- Experience brazing Brass/ S. Steel, Copper pipe (½ ” to 4.0 “OD copper).
- Must be able to braze 45% silfos to stainless steel with gas flux
- Must be able to use hand and pneumatic tools
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Must be able to stand, reach, bend, stoop and lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to perform duties as required under minimal supervision
- Must have sufficient working knowledge to pass brazing certification

Compensation Disclosure
- For use by Ontario employers with 25 or more employees, for positions with expected compensation of $200,000 CAD /year or less.
The expected hourly wage rate for this position is between $20 and $30 per hour. This range reflects the anticipated compensation for the role, based on factors such as qualifications, experience and market conditions.
