As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.
Shifts:
1st Shift: 6:45am - 3:15pm with daily and weekend OT as needed.
2nd Shift: 2:45pm - 11:15pm with daily and weekend OT as needed.
3rd Shift: 10:45pm - 7:15am with daily and weekend OT as needed.
Pay Rate: $26.03
Plus Shift Differential for 2nd & 3rd Shifts: $2.00 per hour
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
The position will be responsible for assisting in press brake operation. The position may assume additional duties as assigned. The successful incumbent will be detail oriented, able to follow instructions well, and work well in a team atmosphere.
Activities / Tasks:
- Assists in set-up of brake
- Assists brake operator with the forming operation
- Place correct labels on parts and sorts to correct JIT kit
- Assists in inspection of parts
- Safely and effectively use tools such as hand tools, measuring tape, and machine equipment
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interpret, sort paper work, and engineering drawings correctly preferred, but not required
- Ability to plan work and select proper tools
- Ability to compare and accurately determine difference in size, shape, and form of objects
- Ability to apply shop mathematics to solve problems
- Ability to correctly and safety use hand tools (both manual and pneumatic)
- Ability to read a tape measure in metric and imperial standards
- Ability to read effectively from a paper copy
- Ability to work within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow and understand directions
Education & experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
- AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.2 welding qualified preferred, but not required
- Previous Stainless Steel Welding experience on 11 gauge through 18 gauge preferred, but not required
- Previous welding experience
Physical requirements
- Lifting up to 100 pounds; 100+ pounds with assistance
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, twisting, reaching, working at heights, and using a ladder as required
- Ability of use both hands overhead
- Perform repetitive motions
- Plant environment with potential exposure to all types of weather, including excessive heat, excessive cold, and excessive noise
