With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Document Control & Engineering Administrator, you will provide administrative and technical support to document control and engineering teams by maintaining engineering documentation, supporting process improvements, ensuring data integrity, and facilitating communication between engineering, production, and quality teams.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Document Control & Engineering Administration
- Maintain Change Request(CR)/Change Order(CO) databases and support all phases of the CR & CO process and implementation
- Maintain Product Structures (BOM), process corrections and builds
- Maintain CRs, COs, and engineering drawing archival
- Maintain engineering libraries and documentation systems
- Engineering & Technical Support
- Provide engineering support and technical evaluations
- Develop technical redlines and review drawing quality for accuracy and completeness
- Assist engineering teams in identifying parent-child relationships within systems and assemblies
- Update supplier specifications with proper revision control and archiving
- Support assembly and test procedure documentation
- Assign drawing reviews for sign-off in a timely manner
- Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support
- Generate reporting requirements and coordinate with direct Manager and/or IT to develop reports
- Interface between engineering, production, and quality control departments
- Assist with manufacturing problem-solving initiatives and solution development
- Support research and recommendations for new system implementations within IFS
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for document control
- Technical Publications & Knowledge Management
- Document and maintain engineering processes, procedures, and standards
- Update documentation process policies and flowcharts
- Update engineering design process policies and flowcharts
- Update CAD standards, policies, and flowcharts
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- Experience with MRP systems, preferably IFS
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor and/or Solidworks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
- Experience supporting document control, engineering administration, or technical documentation functions
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective decision-making and reasoning skills aligned with company guidelines
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Education & Certifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
Travel & Working Environment
- Office environment requiring regular use of computers and standard office equipment
- Light lifting and physical activity required to perform essential job functions
- Limited travel may be required based on business needs
- Post-offer background check and drug screening required
