With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. The HR Temp is a short-term assignment that will support the existing HR team members by creating templates, checklists, and dashboards, update existing HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and use AI to automate and streamline repetitive tasks.
This is a hands-on position that interacts with the manufacturing employees and support staff with a primary focus on employee relations, recruiting, payroll, and continuous improvement efforts.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Onsite HR Contact:
- Serve as onsite HR contact for employee questions from employees; escalating to local HR team, as needed.
- Assisting with employee disciplinary and workplace investigations, as needed.
- Supporting coordination of annual activities and events that enhance employee engagement.
- Recruiting:
- Supporting the hiring of temporary agencies, local technical schools and business partnerships.
- Standardizing new hire onboarding, orientations, and 90-day evaluations.
3. System & Compliance
- Standardizing communications and creating templates for performance management, compliance training, and employee onboarding/offboarding tasks.
- Assisting with automation of existing HR processes and procedures which include, but are not limited to, employee leaves and returns, electronic filing of personnel documents, communications planning, quarterly and annual awards distributions.
- Keeping bulletin boards up to date with state-required information and postings.
- Tracking signed acknowledgments for employee handbook distribution.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in an office environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Experience supporting recruiting, training, performance management, and employee relations.
- Experience working with Ceridian Time and Attendance is a plus.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree, student working toward Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Travel & Working Environment
- This is 100% onsite, Monday – Friday.
- Work hours can be between 7:30am – 4:00pm EST, incl 30 min unpaid lunch.
- Office environment with occasional work in a plant/manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing environment requires use of safety footwear and eye protection when in production areas.
- May require occasional lifting of items weighing up to 20 pounds.
