With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.
How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Shipping/Receiving Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and coordinating all shipping/receiving activities. Picking, packing, and processing shipments with precision. Receiving purchase orders, repairs, loaners and customer returns. Ensure best practices are followed in the execution of the above tasks. Prioritize the daily workload to ensure all daily tasks are completed. In this critical role, you will ensure the seamless operation of our logistics processes, thereby contributing to the overall success and efficiency of our team.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Administrative Duties
- Perform daily validated customer order audits
- Review backorders daily
- Order shipping supplies
- Train and supervise shipping / receiving personnel
- Provide shipping status updates and freight quotes as required via email
- Communicate with procurement / finance as required to solve purchase order / receiving / invoice discrepancies
- Shipping area responsibilities:
- Ensure best shipping practices and standard procedures are being followed.
- Delegate tasks within the team to ensure high-quality, daily assignment completion.
- Process domestic and international shipments using carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL Freight.
3. Receiving responsibilities:
- Ensure best receiving practices and standard procedures are being followed.
- Receive purchase orders, customer repairs, loaners and customer returns and route accordingly.
- Oversee RMA routing process from receipt, to test and ultimately back to stock.
- Engage with cross functional groups to solve receiving / inventory discrepancies.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in material, supply chain or logistics.
- Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external clients.
- Must be organized and able to multi-task.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Forklift Certification
- Associate’s degree
- 2+ years of experience in a material, supply chain or logistics position
- 2+ years of experience with shipping / UPS / Fed EX / DHL / LTL freight
- 2+ years of experience initiating / managing / closing out shipping claims
- Certified in IATA and DOT Dangerous Goods shipping
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma required.
Travel & Working Environment
- Warehouse environment. 5 days a week on-site at Orlando location.
- Schedule varies between 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, talk or hear; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee is regularly required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without lift assist.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
