This role serves as the primary business systems liaison for manufacturing technology capabilities, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP/MRP integration, barcode scanning, shop-floor standard work and process planning, factory IT infrastructure, metal fabrication programming software, quality management systems, and data/AI-enabled predictive maintenance initiatives.

This position combines strong business analysis, hands-on application support, requirements definition, solution design, testing, documentation, and change enablement. The role requires the ability to translate manufacturing process needs into scalable technology solutions while providing reliable day-to-day support for plant operations and production-critical systems.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Lead manufacturing technology solutioning and business analysis for plant operations:
    • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, quality, maintenance, and operations stakeholders to capture business requirements, document process pain points, and translate needs into practical technology solutions.
    • Support MES implementation and enhancement efforts, including requirements definition, fit/gap analysis, functional design, testing, deployment readiness, training support, and post-go-live stabilization.
    • Define and document shop-floor standard work and process planning requirements that enable consistent execution, data capture, production visibility, and continuous improvement.

  • Support ERP/MRP and manufacturing process transformation:
    • Analyze and support changes to ERP/MRP-enabled go-to-market and production execution processes for manufacturing plants, including order flow, material planning, routing, production reporting, and operational data handoffs.
    • Provide functional support for SAP ERP and related manufacturing business processes, including integration points between ERP, MES, quality, maintenance, and shop-floor systems.
    • Assist with data validation, master data readiness, user acceptance testing, cutover support, and business adoption activities tied to manufacturing technology projects.

  • Provide shop-floor application and technology support / service delivery:
    • Support barcode scanning technology, including requirements, device/process testing, issue triage, user support, and integration with ERP/MES or inventory/production reporting processes.
    • Provide first/second level support for factory floor technology such as production PCs, monitors, scanners, printers, terminals, and related shop-floor peripherals in partnership with infrastructure and endpoint support teams.
    • Support factory IT infrastructure needs by helping identify operational requirements, coordinate issue resolution, and ensure technology solutions are reliable for production environments.

  • Support metal fabrication and production-enabling software:
    • Support systems and software used for programming metal fabrication machines, including coordination with engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and IT teams to resolve issues and improve process reliability.
    • Provide business systems support for sheet metal factory operations and metal fabrication processes, with a focus on enabling accurate production execution, traceability, and operational efficiency.
    • Provide support for CAM programming for shop floor including nesting software for sheetmetal.

  • Support quality management and predictive maintenance capabilities:
    • Support QMS deployment and ongoing enhancements, including requirements gathering, workflow support, testing, reporting needs, and business adoption. Experience with EtQ is a plus.
    • Partner with maintenance, operations, and data teams to support predictive maintenance use cases and connect factory data needs to broader data and AI strategy initiatives.
    • Assist with identifying relevant production, equipment, quality, and maintenance data sources needed for analytics, reporting, predictive insights, and continuous improvement.

  • Deliver reliable application support, documentation, and stakeholder communication:
    • Provide first/second level response to business support requests, incidents, troubleshooting needs, and project requests for manufacturing technology solutions.
    • Develop and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, test scripts, user documentation, support procedures, and training materials.
    • Coordinate with IT, vendors, plant teams, and business stakeholders to prioritize requests, resolve issues, communicate status, and deliver expected outcomes with limited oversight.
    • Safeguard company data and support effective system controls, security, data integrity, and compliance practices for manufacturing applications and related processes.
