JOB SUMMARY
This position’s primary purpose is to assist the Strategic Sourcing department in maintaining supply chain relationships and monitoring suppliers’ performance. Key responsibilities include developing relationships with suppliers, resolving and negotiating disputes between the company and suppliers, and identifying and managing cost savings projects. This position is the party solely responsible for updating the ERP system with supplier pricing as well as developing pricing for use in quotations. Additional duties include communicating market trends and expediting the delivery of parts. Key success criteria include timely, accurate maintenance of supplier pricing information, as well as effectively developing and strengthening relationships with suppliers.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Strategic Sourcing department in maintaining supply chain relationships and monitoring suppliers’ performance
- Assist with resolving and negotiating disputes between the company and its suppliers
- Assist with identifying and managing cost savings projects
- Update ERP system with supplier pricing
- Develop pricing for use in quotations
- Communicate market trends
- Develop relationships with suppliers
- Expedite delivery of parts
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in progress
- Experience in purchasing and/or materials management preferred
- Experience in Lean manufacturing philosophy and work environment preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Certified Purchasing Manager designation preferred
- Proficiency in an ERP system preferred
