How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. Join our Training Team as a Technical Trainer where you will help educate all parts of the SPX value chain—Employees, Third Party Reps, Engineering Firms and End users. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a technical content creator and presenter for various employee, rep firm, end user, service provider, contractor and engineering firm focused training and educational materials. This position will be responsible for creating (with input from others) the training content and presenting it to the various stakeholders. They will also be responsible for creating a variety of other technical content—including product training, SPX Training and technical features. This candidate must be highly knowledgeable on SPX products as they will be required to generate significant content.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Build and Govern a single source of truth for Product, Value Proposition, Application and Technical Content.
- Build and manage a presentation library with standardized templates, consistent messaging, and controlled distribution.
- Own the creation, refreshing, and governance of technical training content across the SPX Cooling / Marley portfolio.
- Develop high‑quality training materials (slides, guides, instructor notes, lab activities, job aids, assessments) for internal and external stakeholders
- Create and maintain a structured, searchable Book of Knowledge (BoK) and/or AI‑enabled Q&A tool
- Create content for short form “Marley Minutes” training content
- Create competitive battlecards and comparisons in cooperation with Engineering and Product Management
- Scale Knowledge Delivery
- Work with Training Manager to deploy scalable training programs for all key value streams
- Leverage diverse delivery tools to increase scale—LMS, CRM, Teams, Webinars, etc.
- Create Digital or recorded content for use on various platforms
- Training Content Ownership and Delivery for:
- Training for RSMs
- Select Parts Trailer roadshows
- Training for School of Cool
- Training for Rep 201 program
- Training for Third Party Engineer training
- Training/Content Creation for Marley Minutes short form training
- Tours (as needed) for Factory and Cave tours
- Training for Marley Hour
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- 5-10 years in HVACR, controls or other related technical fields
- 2+ years of experience creating and delivering technical training content
- 2+ years of experience with Marley products is strongly preferred
- Experience in product training, technical enablement, or adult learning design strongly preferred
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong Presentation Skills
- Must be knowledgeable in cooling towers and fluid coolers
- Must be knowledgeable in HVACR related topics
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
- MBA Preferred
Travel & Working Environment
Up to 40% travel
