How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Brazer you will be responsible for brazing copper tubing and components used in the manufacture of HVAC coils and heat transfer products. This position ensures strong, leak-free joints that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. The Brazer works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and plays a critical role in producing high-quality products safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities to SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
Safety
- Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure proper and effective operation of machine and tools throughout entire process. Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor
Quality
- Assemble coil components and prepare parts for brazing according to production requirements.
- Inspect brazed joints for completeness, strength, appearance, and workmanship.
- Identify and report defects, leaks, material issues, and non-conforming products.
- Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions and assembly requirements.
- Support leak-testing, inspection, and quality assurance processes as required.
Delivery
- Perform brazing operations on copper tubes, headers, return bends, distributors, and related HVAC coil components.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, production drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Set up, operate, and maintain brazing torches and related equipment.
- Follow established brazing procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Maintain production output goals while ensuring workmanship meets quality expectations.
- Perform light maintenance on equipment, machines, and other devices used in the normal course of work performed
- Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- 2 years or more of brazing, soldering, welding, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience brazing copper tubing in HVAC, refrigeration, heat exchanger, or coil manufacturing operations.
- Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of leak detection, pressure-containing joints, and brazing best practices.
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
