As part of Detection and Measurement, Aids to Navigation, including Flash, Sabik Marine and Sealite, are leading providers of lighting and navigational aids for the marine, obstruction, and airfield end markets.  Offering the broadest portfolio of solutions, we help people transverse the world safely by air, land, and sea.

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Managing Director – EMEA and Africa, you will have full commercial and operational accountability for the EMEA region, with a primary focus on driving profitable revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding market share. You will lead and inspire high-performing commercial teams while partnering closely with global functions to execute strategy, deliver results, and build a sustainable growth platform across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

 

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Regional P&L and Commercial Leadership
  • Own full P&L responsibility for the EMEA region, ensuring delivery of revenue, margin, and cash objectives.
  • Develop and execute the regional commercial strategy aligned with global business priorities.
  • Drive disciplined pricing, margin management, and sales effectiveness across all markets.

 

  1. Sales Growth & Market Expansion
  • Lead regional sales organizations to achieve aggressive growth targets across key verticals and geographies.
  • Identify and capitalize on new markets, channels, and customer opportunities.
  • Strengthen key customer and partner relationships, including direct engagement with strategic accounts.

 

3.  People Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team with a strong performance and accountability culture.
  • Coach and mentor sales and functional leaders to elevate commercial capability and leadership bench strength.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

 

4. Strategic Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with global marketing, operations, finance, and product teams to ensure effective execution of regional initiatives.
  • Translate global strategy into actionable regional plans with clear KPIs and accountability.
  • Lead change initiatives to support growth, scalability, and operational excellence.

5. Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and SPX governance requirements across EMEA.
  • Proactively manage business risks and ensure strong internal controls and ethical standards.

 

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Senior commercial or general management leadership experience with full P&L accountability.
  • Proven track record of driving profitable sales growth in complex, multi-country EMEA markets.
  • Experience leading and scaling sales organizations within industrial, engineered, or B2B environments.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong commercial acumen with deep expertise in sales strategy, pricing, and channel management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, execution discipline, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level presence.

 

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced business degree strongly preferred.

 

Travel & Working Environment

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the EMEA and Africa region and internationally as required.
  • Flexible work location within EMEA, with regular presence in key regional markets and facility offices.
