How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

 

The Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift is responsible for leading a team of hourly production employees and overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved. This role drives operational execution, employee engagement, and continuous improvement within the production area.

 

This aligns with internal roles where supervisors lead teams, ensure efficient operations, maintain safety standards, and deliver quality products on time.

Key Responsibilities

 

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop 2nd shift production employees to ensure high performance and engagement
  • Conduct performance feedback, training, and corrective actions as needed
  • Schedule staffing and manage attendance, timekeeping, and daily assignments
  • Partner with HR on employee relations, hiring, and onboarding
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable team environment

 

Daily Operations Execution

  • Supervise day-to-day 2nd shift production operations to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets
  • Coordinate production workflow and ensure adherence to schedules
  • Monitor output, labor utilization, and efficiency
  • Ensure proper use of materials, equipment, and resources
  • Participate in production meetings and communicate updates across departments

 

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Conduct safety observations and support incident investigations
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability

 

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and standard operating procedures
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
  • Drive lean manufacturing practices and waste reduction initiatives
  • Monitor KPIs and production metrics (scrap, efficiency, downtime, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate production, safety, and performance records

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams
  • Support problem-solving efforts related to production issues or constraints
  • Ensure alignment between production plans and customer delivery requirements

 

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

 

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

 

Required

  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production operations
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred

  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing systems
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principles
  • Experience in HVAC or engineered products manufacturing
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)
