As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. The position is responsible for inspection of all materials before signing off and approving the product. The position may assume additional duties as assigned. The successful incumbent will be detail oriented, able to follow instructions well, and work well in a team atmosphere.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
- Maintains safe and health work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with company policies; keeping area clean and organized
- Maintains quality standards by inspecting in-process production, finished, or crated towers to ensure order is assembled or packed to specification
- Reports on defects and shortages found on the production line or during the pack-in process
- Documents inspection results by photographing towers in production or during the pack-in process and completes reports and logs
- Ensures all documentation is complete, accurate, and done in a timely manner
- Provide other technical guidance and/or assistance as required by the business
- Provides feedback to production teams – issues Quality Alerts to inform production of identified errors.
What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience & Skills
- Ability to read assembly manuals, job orders, drawings, blueprints, and Pack-In paperwork
- Ability to use and learn basic computer software programs.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel) effectively.
- Ability to operate man lift.
- Ability to read a tape measure in metric and imperial standards
- Ability to correctly and safely use hand tools (both manual and pneumatic)
- Ability to read effectively from a paper copy
- Ability to plan work and select proper tools
- Ability to work within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow and understand directions
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required

- Lifting up to 50 pounds; 50+ pounds with assistance
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, twisting, reaching, working at heights, and using a ladder as required

- Plant environment with potential exposure to all types of weather, including excessive heat, excessive cold, and excessive noise
