As part of Detection and Measurement, Aids to Navigation, including Flash, Sabik Marine and Sealite, are leading providers of lighting and navigational aids for the marine, obstruction, and airfield end markets.  Offering the broadest portfolio of solutions, we help people transverse the world safely by air, land, and sea.

 

Job Summary

The Production Floater supports multiple operational areas across the facility, with primary responsibility for shipping, logistics, and material handling activities. This role ensures the efficient movement of materials and timely shipment of finished goods while also providing flexible support to production operations as needed to meet business demands.

Duties:

  • Prepare finished goods for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, and securing products
  • Transport materials between loading docks, trucks, and storage areas
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, including raw materials and dunnage
  • Review orders for accuracy and completeness prior to shipment
  • Verify shipping documentation and ensure all special instructions are followed
  • Support expedited shipments to meet customer and production schedules
  • Track and maintain inventory through labelling, organization, and reporting shortages
  • Move materials using manual handling, pallet jacks, and forklifts
  • Perform pre-use inspections and basic maintenance of material handling equipment
  • Maintain organized storage locations and ensure adherence to inventory control practices 
  • Provide flexible support to production areas based on business needs, including:
    • Manufacturing or assembly tasks
    • Packaging finished goods
    • Performing quality inspections
    • Assist with operation of production equipment and basic troubleshooting
    • Apply finishing elements such as labels or graphics to products
    • Follow all safety procedures and promote a safety-first culture
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate suggestions to leadership
    • Resolve issues quickly with supervisors to avoid disruption to shipping or production

 

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift Certification
  • Experience in shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing environments preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of general use of hand and power tools
  • Valid driver’s license
