As part of Detection and Measurement, Aids to Navigation, including Flash, Sabik Marine and Sealite, are leading providers of lighting and navigational aids for the marine, obstruction, and airfield end markets. Offering the broadest portfolio of solutions, we help people transverse the world safely by air, land, and sea.
Summary
Contribute to the overall success of SPX Aids to Navigation by utilizing, developing and advocating product quality control plans and working closely with manufacturing to ensure quality standards are met and issues identified before shipment.
Duties:
- Follow safe work practices and procedures, and ensure a “safety first” culture in every task undertaken.
- Work closely with manufacturing to perform Quality Inspection and functional testing of production assembly against the requirements.
- Undertake in-process and final inspection of the manufactured goods and approve for dispatch.
- Utilize, advocate, develop, product quality control plans.
- Adhere to quality performance requirements, flag and drive issues to root cause solutions.
- Ensure effective detection and control on non-conforming goods.
- Perform roving in-process audit to ensure process control of production processes
- Ensure status of conforming and non-conforming goods are clearly identified
- Resolve returned material from customers by identifying root cause and dispositioning
- Assist in the identification and resolution of incoming material and manufacturing quality issues, contain parts or products as needed, sort parts for quality requirements.
- Identify, escalate and implement continuous improvement ideas
- Perform any other duties as reasonably directed.
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Technical qualifications in relevant fields.
- Previous industry experience in a similar technical QC role.
- Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical standards are desirable.
- Relevant experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing practices such as 5S, Kaizen, etc. highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organization skills, including time management, multitasking and prioritizing.
- Motivated, self-starter, uses initiative and resilience to drive outcomes.
