As part of Detection and Measurement, Enterprise Control Systems (ECS) is a leading supplier of long range data links that support real time high resolution video transfer between air and ground users.   In creating products like RF inhibitors and specialized equipment for military and security purposes, we protect ground forces and infrastructure around the world.

 

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

As a Management Accountant, you will contribute to the financial success and growth of the company by ensuring accurate financial reporting to support decision making, planning, and control processes.  Under direction of the Financial Controller, and in accordance with corporate policies and procedures the successful applicant will have a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret financial data effectively, and the capacity to communicate complex financial information to various stakeholders within and outside the organization. In this role you will manage direct reports to deliver the financial requirements for the businesses within your responsibility.
    
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)
While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:
1.    Financial Reporting and Analysis
•    Compile and analyze financial information for the preparation of monthly management accounts
•    Prepare account reconciliations and ensure proper controls of general ledger activity.
•    Prepare financial reports for forecasting and budgeting
•    Generate periodic ad hoc financial reports.

 

2.    Financial Planning and Control
•    Involvement in inventory control and stock count attendance

 

3.    Compliance and Documentation
•    Completion of Statutory accounts, Sales tax returns and other government requirements
•    Assisting with SOX control testing, internal and external audits
•    Assist with cross-training, development, and continual improvement of company policies and procedures.
•    Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
•    Participate in other projects as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department and organization.

 

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
•    Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience 

 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
•    Prior experience in and understanding of accounting for a manufacturing company
•    Effective organizational skills, including following up on his/her own needed actions
•    Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft Excel including data management
•    IFS and/or SAP ERP experience is a plus    
•    Adept problem-solving skills and analytical ability

 

Education & Certifications
•     Membership or Part Qualification of an appropriate professional association; CIMA\ACCA\ACA

 

Travel & Working Environment
•    Onsite office environment and work from home, 16 hours per week with additional hours at month end
•    The position may require working occasionally outside normal work hours
•    Ad-hoc International Travel as required
