How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for processing incoming stock, verifying delivery contents against purchase orders, inspecting for quality, and storing items safely. This role ensures supply chain integrity by preventing inventory errors and reporting order discrepancies immediately.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

Safety
- Ensure carriers, shipping and receiving personnel, and other logistical areas comply with safety standards and legal requirements
- Keep the loading dock and receiving zones clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business
- Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition
- Report issues/repairs to team lead or supervisor
Delivery
- Unload incoming delivery trucks safely using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
- Compare packing slips and invoices with original purchase orders to confirm exact quantities.
- Document delivery errors and contact vendors or procurement teams to resolve shortages and returns.
- Continuously improve receiving processes for efficiency and well-organized work environment
- Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision
Quality
- Maintain exact and consistent records
- Examine contents for defects, damages, or missing pieces before signing off on deliveries.
- Attach barcodes, inventory tags, or labels to items and route them to designated storage bins or shelves.
- Able to self-monitor quality of own work, and report to supervisor unusual, defective, or operating difficulties
- Complete all tasks and work within designed quality guidelines

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
- 0–2 years in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management
- LTL, FTL, customer set up, and outside service logistic set up
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface effectively with delivery drivers, vendors, and purchasing managers
- Attention to detail, spotting discrepancies between invoices and physical stock.
- Excellent math skills
- Self-driven, able to work independently, and as a team
- Comfort using Microsoft Office, ERP platforms (SAP) and inventory tracking systems
- Able to work between organizations to achieve goals
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or experience operating forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and handheld RF scanners preferred
